Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state has reportedly empowered over 5,000 youths with shoe shining kits.
Photos from the reported empowerment kits are currently making waves across the internet.
It was gathered that the kits are newly improved with polish and brush for the beneficiaries.
As expected, this has drawn several reactions from several persons with a handful criticizing the governor.
One apparently disgusted user wrote: "The rate at which they do rubbish now is too much...keke as ambulance .. bread and tea for meshai ... wooden truck .. now this."
Another user wrote: "Yoruba has a sense of entitlement. If you are rich and you don’t take care of your family and friends, you lose your pride. Hausa puts everything in God. They are pleased just to come and eat at a rich man’s house and pray for him and leave. Ibo, everybody for himself progressively. Our political elites take an advantage of our societal weaknesses, it is what we see here. These receivers are as happy as when Tinubu gives cars or buses to “boys” in Lagos."
